Rabble continues my exploration of how thousands of simple, repeated elements can come together to create a unified form. Constructed from more than 10,000 individually formed steel pieces, each about the size of a potato chip, the sculpture transforms countless small components into a bold geometric composition.

Unlike its companion piece, Boodle, which explores the sphere, Rabble embraces the strength and structure of the cube. The richly textured surface softens the precision of the geometry, creating a contrast between the ordered form and the seemingly random arrangement of its individual elements.

Balanced on a central axis, the sculpture rotates freely, allowing the changing light and shifting viewpoints to continually redefine its surface and silhouette. As the cube turns, viewers experience an ever-changing relationship between texture, geometry, and shadow.

A Personal Note

Rabble grew from the same fascination that inspired Boodle- the idea that countless simple pieces can become something entirely new when brought together with intention. I enjoy the contrast between the precision of the overall form and the individuality of every element that makes it possible.
