Echoes explores the relationship between solid form, transparency, and light. Geometric wooden elements frame eight custom-molded, sand-cast glass forms, allowing the illuminated glass to become an integral part of the composition rather than simply a light source.

Each glass element is edge-lit, revealing the subtle textures and character created during the casting process. The lighting system can display a single static color or transition through slow, dual-color animations, allowing the sculpture's appearance to evolve while maintaining its quiet architectural presence.

The composition changes throughout the day, appearing as a sculptural object when unlit and taking on an entirely different character as light travels through the cast glass.

A Personal Note

I've always been interested in how different materials influence one another. With Echoes, I wanted the wood to provide structure while the glass introduced an entirely different quality—one defined by light rather than mass. The changing illumination adds another layer to the sculpture without overwhelming its simple geometric composition.
