Array explores rhythm, movement, and layered geometry through a composition of intersecting linear forms. Constructed from nine individually painted sections, the sculpture creates an ever-changing interplay of color, depth, and negative space as the viewer moves around it.
Although the composition appears spontaneous, each element is carefully positioned to create balance within the complexity. The overlapping forms produce shifting visual relationships that encourage the eye to travel across the work, discovering new alignments and intersections from different viewpoints.
Designed for flexibility, Array can be installed in either landscape or portrait orientation, offering two distinct interpretations of the same composition.
A Personal Note
I enjoy creating compositions that feel energetic without becoming chaotic. Array began as an exploration of how simple linear forms could overlap and interact to create movement, depth, and visual rhythm. Changing the orientation gives the sculpture a completely different presence, while the relationships between the individual elements remain the same.
