Unfurling
This is a larger version of a speculative piece done several years ago. This larger version was done as a commission and will be installed for a high end residential developement.
The 1” solid stock material was heated with an acetylene torch and incrementally shaped to create the overall shape and the four main splines.
Oh, and there is 840 feet of 3/4” solid stock that fills the space between the splines! Geez!
